Dartmouth Health is seeking an experienced employment attorney to join a growing team of dedicated counsel supporting the member organizations of the Dartmouth Health System . This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced employment attorney with prior in-house hospital or health system experience who is seeking to further develop their practice within a large and dynamic healthcare environment.
About the job:
Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel of Dartmouth Health, the Assistant General Counsel - Employment provides day-to-day legal advice and guidance on a broad range of employment matters, including workplace policies, recruitment and hiring, performance management, accommodations, leaves of absence, employee discipline and termination, compensation, wage and hour compliance, benefits, workplace investigations, and federal, state, and local employment laws, including Title VII, Title IX, FSLA, ADA, FMLA, and PWFA. The Assistant General Counsel - Employment is also responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various employment related documents and agreements, as well as supporting other OGC initiatives as needed and assigned. The Assistant General Counsel - Employment is vital to protecting the institutional interests of Dartmouth Health and supporting our growing workforce of more than 16,000 employees.

  • Significant experience providing strategic, client facing legal advice on complex employment matters
  • Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and analyzing employment-related documents and agreements

This is a fully remote role with the expectation that all Office of General Counsel team members will come onsite to Lebanon, NH twice per year.

Minimum qualifications:
Qualified candidates must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and have three to five years of prior experience as practicing employment law. Active licensure with a State Bar, as well as the ability to obtain licensure in the New Hampshire Stare Bar within one year of hire. In-house counsel experience within healthcare is preferred.
