Position Summary:
The Sourcing Specialist is a key member of the exterior services vendor sourcing team and is responsible for the hiring and on-boarding of service partners to perform landscape maintenance, snow removal, lot sweeping and other contracted services. In this role you will identify, pre-qualify, and establish relationships with qualified service providers in different markets. You will be responsible for negotiating contracts, managing profitability of deals, and initiating services on time for client contracted accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Continuously work to identify and qualify new service partners in assigned markets and service lines. Establishes and maintains working relationships with service partners.
  • Negotiates pricing with service partners for contracted services while maintaining expected margins.
  • Ensures timely, smooth start up and initial service on new client accounts.
  • Works with Account Coordinators and Operations Supervisors to replace underperforming service partners.
  • Obtains pricing from service partners during RFP process.
  • Ensures through the on-boarding process that new service partners meet all compliance requirements prior to initiating service.
  • Works with operations teams when applicable to start up services.
  • Deciphers and communicates Statement of Work (SOW) variations and requirements to subcontractors.
  • Communicates with service partners and contract compliance to ensure we have all the correct documentation.
  • Ensures service partner training on the KBS Presence Software Application.
  • Adjusts work schedule during snow season or high peak periods when necessary.
  • Assists Manager with special projects, reporting, team oversight and manage daily workflows.
  • Helps coordinate and communicate with Regional Teams daily to assure a smooth service partner transition to operations.
  • Tracks and records onboarded service partners.
  • Maintains accurate records on service partner responses, pricing, capabilities, past performance, etc.
  • Works closely with contract compliance team to ensure service partners meet standards for compliance.
  • Assists Strategic Accounts and Sales team in pricing activities.
  • Maintains a consultative relationship with cross-functional business functions

Requirements for a Sourcing Specialist:
  • Knowledge of landscape and snow industry
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required)
  • General contract and compliance management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advance Excel skills required
  • WinTeam and Corrigo experience is a plus
  • 3 years' experience with vendor sourcing within the landscape and snow removal industry
  • KBS utilizes the KBSPresence mobile timekeeping software for accurate recording of employee work hours, attendance management, completion of required training, and distribution of important employment-related information. All non-exempt employees are required to download and use the KBSPresence app on their personal mobile devices to clock in and out for their shifts and breaks. In accordance with applicable local laws, cell phone reimbursement is provided to support the use of personal devices for work-related tasks.
