Mission of Role/Position Summary:

Theย Vice President of Business Developmentย (VP/BD)ย will lead the development and execution of ACDCโ€™s revenueย and growthย strategy across all service lines. This executive willย be responsible forย aligning sales, business development, client success, and marketing to drive sustainable andย values-based growth. Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Account Managementย 

    • Build and lead a high-performing business development and sales organization, includingย Account Management, Capture,ย andย Proposalย teams.ย 
    • Design and implement scalable structures for account management to enhance client satisfaction and retention as ACDC grows.ย 
    • Recruit, coach, and develop revenue-focusedย account executives and business development staffย committed to compassionate, community-centered service.ย 
    • Leads Go/No-Go and Strategic Pipeline Processย 
    • Manages corporate implementation and use of CRM toolsย 

Market Positioning & Differentiationย 

    • Champion ACDCโ€™s market differentiation as a woman-owned, empathy-driven consulting firm.ย 
    • Partner withย Marketing to refine go-to-market messaging, proposals, and thought leadership that reflects ACDCโ€™s values.ย 
    • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, andย policyย changes to keep ACDC ahead of the curve.ย 

Cross-Functional Collaborationย 

    • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Program Delivery to ensure revenue growth is profitable and strategically aligned.ย 
    • In coordination with our Marketing and Communications Division, develop a Conference/Trade Show strategy that is tied back to the revenue strategy and ensures good ROI\'s.ย 
    • Developsย corporate business development training and guidance materials.ย 
    • Lead ourย Proposal Teams,ย in close coordination and collaboration with service line SMEs and the Marketing team,ย on responses to formal RFP/RFI/RFQsย and proactive, non-solicited proposals based on market intelligence and relationships developed by theย VP/BD and other organizational leaders.ย 
    • Workย hand-in-handย with theย Project Management Office (PMO)ย to ensure seamless transitions from business development to project delivery and long-term client engagement.ย 
    • Serve as a key advisor to theย C-Suiteย on strategic decisions related to growth, client relationships, and business development priorities.ย 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Extensive knowledge of strategic sales leadership, revenue growth planning, consultative selling, and public sector/government procurement processes.ย ย 
    • Strong ability to develop and execute sales strategies, manage pipelines and forecasts, and drive achievement of revenue and growth targets.ย ย 
    • Advanced relationship-building, negotiation, and executive communication skills with the ability to influence clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.ย ย 
    • Proven leadership capability in building, coaching, and managing high-performing sales and account management teams within a growth-oriented culture.ย ย 
    • Ability to analyze market trends, competitive positioning, financial metrics, and business intelligence to support strategic decision-making.ย ย 
    • Proficiencyย with CRM and sales enablement platforms such as Salesforce and HubSpot, including reporting, forecasting, and performance analytics.ย ย

    • Willingness and ability to travelย 50โ€“75%ย for in-person client engagement, conferences, and strategic business development efforts.ย 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role will have supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work:

Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 75% travel is expected for this position.
  • Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands:

  • Mobility required on-site with clients.
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
  • Ability to manipulate up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Working Environment:

  • Emergency management personnel may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
  • All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
  • If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

Experience/Education Required:

  • Minimumย 10โ€“15ย yearsย of progressive sales, business development, or account management experienceย ย 
  • Minimumย 5โ€“8ย yearsย in senior sales leadership roles with direct responsibility for revenue generationย ย 
  • Experience supporting Government contracting or public sector procurement.ย 
  • Demonstrated experience managing:ย ย 
    • Multi-million-dollar revenue targetsย ย 
    • Complex sales cyclesย ย 
    • Enterprise or government/public sector accountsย ย 
    • Cross-functional pursuit teamsย ย 
  • Provenย track recordย of:ย ย
