What is a Part Time Remote Supervisor?

A Part Time Remote Supervisor is a professional who oversees a team or specific operations from a remote location, typically using digital communication tools, while working less than full-time hours. Their responsibilities often include monitoring employee performance, coordinating tasks, providing feedback, and ensuring that team goals are met, all without being physically present in the workplace. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work arrangements and is common in industries such as customer service, sales, and IT. Effective communication, time management, and leadership skills are essential for success in this position.

What is the difference between Part Time Remote Supervisor vs Part Time Remote Team Lead?

AspectPart Time Remote SupervisorPart Time Remote Team Lead

Work EnvironmentOversees remote teams, manages workflows virtuallyCoordinates team activities remotely, focuses on team performance
Employer & Industry UsageCommon in customer service, sales, and administrative sectorsUsed in tech, customer support, and project-based industries

Both roles involve remote work and team oversight, but a Part Time Remote Supervisor typically has more formal authority and responsibilities for managing staff, while a Part Time Remote Team Lead focuses on guiding team efforts and project coordination. The roles often overlap, but supervisors usually have broader managerial duties.

How does a Part Time Remote Supervisor effectively manage and support team members who are also working remotely?

As a Part Time Remote Supervisor, you’ll rely heavily on clear communication and digital collaboration tools to manage and support your team from a distance. Regular check-ins, virtual meetings, and clear goal-setting are essential for keeping everyone aligned and motivated. You’ll often need to balance flexibility with accountability, ensuring team members have the autonomy they need while still meeting performance expectations. Building trust and fostering a positive team culture can be challenging remotely, but leveraging video calls and open channels for feedback can make a big difference.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Remote Supervisor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Remote Supervisor, you need strong leadership abilities, organizational skills, relevant supervisory experience, and often a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Familiarity with remote collaboration tools (such as Zoom, Slack, or Microsoft Teams), project management software, and time-tracking systems is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and self-motivation are soft skills that set top performers apart in this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for effectively managing distributed teams, ensuring productivity, and fostering a positive remote work environment.

Job description

Thriveworks is currently seeking Licensed Clinicians to provide telehealth sessions in Washington or Oregon who reside in Utah.

About the job

Thriveworks is a mental health care company founded by clinicians in 2008 and still led by them today. With 340+ locations and a nationwide hybrid care model, we serve over 175,000 clients annually through more than 1.7 million sessions, and we're growing. In addition to working directly with clients, we partner with health systems and primary care providers because we believe mental health is inseparable from physical health. As a clinician-led organization, we're built to support the people who do this work with the tools, community, and stability you need to build a career that lasts.

About the Role

We’re hiring licensed clinicians to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to our more than 175,000 clients across the country. You may be a good fit for this role if you’re:

  • Independently licensed in Washington or Oregon and living in Utah — LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, PhD (Licensed Psychologist) in Washington or LPC, LMFT, LCSW, PhD (Licensed Psychologist) in Oregon

  • Consistently available to clients for a minimum of 15 sessions with 20 hours of availability weekly

  • A behavioral health generalist who is open to treating a variety of clients, including couples and children

  • Invested in helping your clients achieve measurable progress

  • Confident working with modern clinical technology, including telehealth and EHR tools

  • A good teammate — we’re building a clinical community and value positive contributors

Compensation

Up to $60,300 based on licensure type, session volume, and bonus opportunities. Full-time clinicians are eligible for health insurance, student loan repayment assistance, paid time off, and other employer-sponsored benefits.

How We Support You

We handle the administrative work so you can focus on what you do best: providing exceptional care. That means credentialing, billing, scheduling, and marketing support taken care of for you, plus paid orientation and training to get you started. You'll build a full caseload within 90 days of credentialing, with flexible scheduling available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET.

Benefits

As a W2 employee, you'll be eligible to receive:

  • Guaranteed bi-weekly pay for completed sessions

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • 401(k) with employer matching

  • Paid time off

  • Short- and long-term disability insurance

  • Company-paid life and AD&D insurance

  • CEU reimbursement and free in-house training

  • Student loan repayment assistance

  • Opportunities for paid clinical supervisor roles in select states

Our Community

Being a clinician can feel isolating, especially in a telehealth world. We're built to make sure it doesn't. You'll have access to live clinical support, monthly case consultations, and a vibrant online and in-person community of more than 2,700 licensed providers. All clinical leadership is promoted from within, so the people supporting you have been exactly where you are.
