How much do part time negotiator jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 7, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time negotiator in the United States is $38.10, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $23.80 and $45.19 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Part Time Negotiator position, and why are they important?

To excel as a Part Time Negotiator, you need strong communication, persuasion, and conflict resolution skills, usually supported by relevant experience in sales, customer service, or mediation. Familiarity with CRM platforms, negotiation management software, or industry-specific systems may be beneficial, and some roles prefer certification from recognized negotiation or mediation programs. Active listening, adaptability, and emotional intelligence are crucial soft skills that help negotiators build rapport and navigate complex discussions. These abilities ensure successful outcomes, foster positive relationships, and enhance value for both clients and employers in high-stakes interactions.

What trade pays 30 an hour?

A part-time negotiator typically does not earn $30 an hour, as this role often involves commission or variable pay. However, certain skilled trades such as electricians, plumbers, or HVAC technicians can earn around $30 per hour or more, especially with experience and certifications. These trades often require technical training and licensing but can provide higher hourly wages even on a part-time basis.

What is a Part Time Negotiator job?

A Part Time Negotiator is responsible for negotiating deals, contracts, or agreements on behalf of a company or client while working on a flexible or reduced-hours schedule. Their role may involve handling disputes, securing favorable terms, or mediating between parties. This job is ideal for individuals with strong communication, persuasion, and problem-solving skills. Part-time negotiators may work in various industries, including sales, legal, procurement, or real estate. Depending on the employer, this role may be remote or on-site.

What are the typical responsibilities of a Part Time Negotiator, and how does the part-time structure impact the role?

As a Part Time Negotiator, your main responsibilities often include mediating agreements, handling dispute resolution, and representing your organization or clients during negotiations, typically on a flexible or as-needed basis. The part-time nature of the position allows for more work-life balance and may involve variable hours, but also requires you to manage your time efficiently and quickly adapt to changing priorities. You might work independently or as part of a team, collaborating closely with legal, sales, or customer relations teams depending on the industry. This structure is ideal for individuals seeking professional engagement without committing to a full-time schedule, though it does mean that negotiation cycles can be more project-based or on-demand.
