Medical Billing & Coding Instructor (Adjunct)

Meridian College โ€“ Sarasota, FL

Part-Time | Hybrid Instruction | Allied Health Education

Meridian College is seeking a passionate and engaging adjunct instructor to teach in our Medical Billing & Coding programs at the diploma and associate degree levels.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced medical billing, coding, or allied health professional who enjoys mentoring students and helping prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Most courses are delivered in a hybrid format; however, instructors are expected to teach from campus in Sarasota.

What Youโ€™ll Do

Teach Medical Billing & Coding courses using active learning strategies

Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment

Prepare weekly lesson plans, assignments, and classroom activities

Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and engagement

Provide timely grading and meaningful feedback to students

Support at-risk students through proactive communication and encouragement

Maintain accurate records and submit required reports on time

Participate in faculty meetings, training, and curriculum improvement initiatives

Integrate real-world healthcare industry experience into classroom instruction

Foster professionalism, accountability, and student success

Qualifications

Required:Minimum of 5 years of experience in:

Medical Billing

Medical Coding

Medical Assisting
  • or a related allied health field
  • Associate degree in an allied health-related discipline

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Comfortable using classroom and online learning technology

    Preferred:Teaching or training experience

    CPC, CCS, CMA, or related industry certifications

    Experience working with adult learners
