What are part-time media jobs?

Part-time media jobs are roles within the media industry—such as journalism, social media management, video production, or content creation—that require employees to work fewer hours than a traditional full-time schedule. These positions can be ideal for students, freelancers, or those seeking flexible work arrangements. Part-time media professionals may work for newspapers, magazines, television stations, digital outlets, or marketing agencies. The responsibilities can range from writing articles and editing videos to managing social media accounts or assisting with production tasks. These roles often provide valuable experience and networking opportunities within the media field.

What are some common challenges faced in a part-time media role, and how can they be managed?

Part-time media professionals often face challenges such as juggling tight deadlines with limited hours, adapting quickly to fast-paced changes in content or technology, and staying connected with full-time team members. Effective time management and clear communication are essential for success. Utilizing collaborative tools and attending regular team check-ins can help part-time staff stay aligned with ongoing projects and maintain strong working relationships.

Job description

About Watson Media House

Watson Media House is a full-service real estate media company delivering high-quality photography, videography, virtual tours, and branding content for agents. We work with over 1,000 agents, including many top producers across the region.

We're looking for a reliable, personable, and detail-oriented individual to join our Northwest Arkansas team. Prior photography experience is required. No real estate experience needed, we'll train you on our exact style, but you should already be comfortable behind a camera. A strong customer-focused mindset, excellent people skills, and a passion and skill for creating great content is a must.

What You'll Do

  • Capture high-quality listing photos and videos (we'll train you on our exact style).
  • Operate drones, 3D cameras, and floor plan scanners (training provided).
  • Build great relationships with real estate agents and homeowners.
  • Deliver a consistent, friendly, and professional experience at every shoot.
  • Travel between shoots (typically within 45 minutes across the Northwest Arkansas region).
  • Upload completed shoots the same day for next-day delivery.
  • Represent the Watson Media House brand with professionalism and pride.

What We're Looking For

  • Experienced Behind the Camera: Prior photography experience required. Comfortable with DSLR or mirrorless cameras. Videography experience is a strong plus.
  • Reliable & Professional: Always on time, organized, and communicates clearly.
  • People-Oriented: You're confident talking to agents, homeowners, and team members. Friendly, professional, and easy to work with.
  • Coachable & Eager to Learn: You follow direction well and are open to feedback.
  • Customer-Focused: You take pride in delivering a great experience, not just great photos.
  • Detail-Oriented: You catch the small things others might miss.
  • Team Player: Positive attitude, dependable, and solution-oriented.
  • Availability: At least 4 weekdays available (Monday–Friday).

Requirements

  • Prior photography experience (videography experience a strong plus).
  • Laptop for file transfers (editing not required).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay Structure: This role is paid per project based on the services you perform, not by the hour. On average, our photographers earn roughly $30 per hour of on-site shoot time. We set an hourly rate through payroll, but your pay is tied to the projects you complete.
  • Training Pay: $15.00 per hour during training.
  • Room to Grow: Strong performers have the potential to move into leadership and management roles as we expand across markets.
  • Training & Growth: Hands-on instruction in real estate photography, drone, video, and 3D tours.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Set your availability. We work around your life, but reliability is key.
  • Work with a Top Media Team: Trusted by top-producing agents across Northwest Arkansas.

Training Details

  • Online training modules completed before hands-on training.
  • 10 days of hands-on training (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM with a 1-hour break).
  • Training will take place in Northwest Arkansas.

Job Details

  • Job Type: W-2 Employee (Part-time)
  • Pay: Per project (averages roughly $30 per hour of on-site shoot time)
  • Work Location: Northwest Arkansas region (on the road)
  • Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday
  • License/Certification: Driver's License (Required)
