What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level Media professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Media professional, you need a foundational understanding of media production, communication, and digital content creation, often supported by a relevant degree or internship experience. Familiarity with media editing software (such as Adobe Creative Suite), content management systems, and social media platforms is typically required. Strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to collaborate effectively help individuals stand out in this field. These competencies enable you to produce high-quality content, meet deadlines, and work efficiently within dynamic media environments.

What are some typical challenges faced by entry-level professionals in the media industry, and how can they be effectively managed?

Entry-level media professionals often encounter challenges such as tight deadlines, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and adapting to rapidly changing technologies and trends. Navigating these challenges requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and a willingness to learn from more experienced team members. Proactively seeking feedback, participating in training opportunities, and building a supportive professional network can help new hires manage stress and develop their expertise more quickly.

What are entry level media jobs?

These roles can include positions such as media assistant, production assistant, junior content creator, social media coordinator, or editorial assistant. Entry level media jobs typically involve supporting senior team members, handling administrative tasks, assisting with content creation, and learning the basics of media production, communication, or marketing. Paid Media Specialist

Filmmakers Ranch

Oklahoma City, OK โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Posted 22 days ago

Job description

We are looking for a Digital Paid Media Specialist who wants to learn fast, think sharply, and become genuinely dangerous with paid media.

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career marketer who loves the mix of strategy, psychology, data, and performance. If you already have hands-on experience buying ads on Meta, that is a big plus. If not, that is okay too - we can teach the platforms. What matters most is curiosity, analytical instinct, strong attention to detail, and the drive to get good fast.

This role sits inside Fanology, our in-house marketing agency based at Filmmakers Ranch - a creative campus that is one part film studio, one part production company, one part training school, and one part agency. Fanology works across our own films, studio ventures, and original projects, while also leading strategy and campaigns for outside brand clients. That means this role offers the chance to work across a far more interesting mix of campaigns than a typical entry-level media job.

For us, paid media is not about boosting posts or pressing buttons. It is about understanding how to get the right message in front of the right person at the right moment - and then improving that system over and over until it performs.

You will help build, launch, manage, and optimize campaigns across Meta, YouTube, TikTok, and Google Ads, working closely with the Head of Marketing and Social Media Producer. You will track what is working, spot what is not, study the data, test new ideas, and help turn campaign performance into smarter creative, better targeting, stronger funnels, and better results for both clients and internal projects.

This is a growth role, but the standard is high.

We are looking for someone who wants to become a true specialist - someone who gets excited by patterns, performance, testing, audience behavior, and the challenge of making campaigns work harder. Over time, this person should grow into a confident, data-literate media buyer who can not only run campaigns, but explain what the numbers mean and what should happen next.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building and managing paid campaigns across Meta, YouTube, TikTok, and Google Ads

  • Helping with targeting, retargeting, budget pacing, and campaign setup

  • Monitoring performance and making optimization decisions

  • Running A/B tests across audiences, creative, offers, and messaging

  • Spotting performance trends and turning them into recommendations

  • Working with the creative and social team to improve what goes out

  • Helping the team understand what is driving results and where ad spend should go next

Who this is for:
This is for someone smart, curious, coachable, and commercially minded. Someone who likes data but also likes ideas. Someone who enjoys figuring out why one ad works and another does not. Someone who wants to build real marketing skill, not just collect job titles.

A background in marketing, business, analytics, media, communications, or digital platforms is helpful. Experience with Meta Ads Manager is a plus, but not essential.

Why this is a great opportunity:
You will not be stuck doing low-level admin forever. You will be trained in real paid-media thinking, exposed to a wide range of campaigns across brands, studio ventures, and films, and given the chance to grow into a highly valuable performance marketer inside a team that actually cares about good work.

This is a role for someone who wants to learn quickly, take ownership, and become excellent.
