What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Marketing Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Marketing Manager, you need a solid background in marketing strategy, campaign planning, and analytics, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field. Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools like Google Analytics is commonly required. Strong organizational skills, creativity, and effective communication help you manage projects and collaborate with diverse teams efficiently. These capabilities are essential to drive impactful marketing initiatives and achieve business goals within limited hours.

How does a part-time marketing manager typically collaborate with full-time team members and external partners?

Part-time marketing managers often coordinate closely with full-time team members by prioritizing clear communication and well-defined project management tools. They may attend key meetings, set strategic goals, and delegate tasks to ensure campaigns run smoothly even when they're not on-site every day. Collaboration with external partners, such as agencies or freelancers, is usually managed through regular check-ins and shared documentation to maintain alignment. Being proactive and accessible during core business hours helps bridge any gaps, ensuring the team remains cohesive and marketing objectives are met effectively.

Job description

About CacheFly
CacheFly has been at the forefront of content delivery for over two decades, powering the streaming, gaming, and digital experiences of companies around the world. We move fast, we care deeply about our customers, and we're building something that matters. Our team is lean, talented, and operates with a high degree of trust and autonomy - we hire people we can hand the keys to.
The Role
We're looking for a seasoned Marketing Manager to join our two-person marketing team and help optimize CacheFly's marketing engine. This is a part-time role requiring approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling and an expectation of approximately four hours of overlap with Eastern Time business hours.
You'll work closely with our Head of Marketing, but you'll own a broad remit - campaigns, paid media, social, website, content, and eventually a podcast that fuels it all. This isn't a role for someone who needs a lot of direction; it's a role for someone who sees what needs to be done and does it.
We are particularly interested in those that have CDN and Tech experience.
What You'll Own
  • Campaigns: Write and execute integrated marketing campaigns end-to-end. Your copy doesn't need to be rewritten. Your sequences go out as written.
  • Paid Media: Set up, manage, and optimize Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and retargeting campaigns. Own the budget and report on performance.
  • Website/Conversion Rate Optimization: Lead a conversion-focused website refresh and own ongoing updates: copy, structure, landing pages, CRO, and keeping pages current.
  • Social Media: Develop and execute a social strategy across the right channels for a B2B tech audience. Know where we should and shouldn't be.
  • Events: Identify the conferences and industry events CacheFly should be at, and help us show up well.
  • Email & Nurture: Build and manage email sequences and nurture programs independently.
  • Podcast/Repurposed Content (future): Help turn conversations, webinars, or podcast episodes into social, email, and campaign content.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • 6+ years of marketing experience, with a strong track record in B2B tech
  • Proven ability to work autonomously - you've owned marketing functions, not just contributed to them
  • Hands-on paid media experience: Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, retargeting
  • Strong writer - campaigns, sequences, web copy, and social that actually performs
  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to a website revamp and CRO strategy
  • Comfortable building a social presence and knowing which channels matter for a technical B2B audience
  • Experience thriving in a startup or lean-team environment where you wear many hats
  • Willing to have approximately 4 hours of cross-over with EST
  • Comfortable operating in a part-time capacity of approximately 20 hours per week while independently managing priorities and deliverables.
  • Experience in CDN, streaming, or adjacent tech infrastructure is a strong plus

Benefits
  • People-First Culture; While we're obsessed with performance, we're also deeply committed to taking care of our people through fair compensation, competitive global benefits, and a culture of mutual respect and authenticity.
  • Competitive pay; $60 - $75 / hour
  • Cutting-edge technology and resources to help you succeed in your role.
  • Remote-first culture.
  • All National Holidays off.
  • $3,000 annual work-from-home stipend, monthly internet/phone or coworking allowance
  • 401(k) with 4% Safe Harbor match, fully vested from day one *
  • Full health benefits (medical, dental, vision, LTD/STD, life) - most at no cost to you *

Benefits marked with an asterisk (*) are available to U.S.-based employees. For team members outside the United States, equivalent value is incorporated into total compensation and country-specific benefits where applicable.
