Job description

Clerical positions that require billing and coding skills in the hospital. Responsible for coding and entering medical records, communicating with insurance companies, and billing patients. Hospital billing clerks use computer software and knowledge of insurance and billing practices to correctly translate verbal descriptions of diagnoses and procedures into codes such as CPT and ICD-10.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED/TASC required

  • New York State Certified Application Specialist certification preferred
  • Specialized certifications may be required

  • Must be able to work full time, part time, variable shifts, and every other weekend

Schedule
  • All positions are in hospitals and nursing homes. These facilities are open 24 hours/7 days each week.
  • General shift availability:
    • Days (7a-3p or 8a-4p)
    • Evenings (3p-11p or 4p-12a)
    • Nights (11p-7a or 12a-8a)
    • *Clerical positions are usually 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm
  • Every other weekend is usually required for all positions.

COVID-19 vaccination is required.
