Position Summary

The Banquet Staff team member is responsible for delivering exceptional banquet and event experiences through hands on event setup, food and beverage service, room presentation, guest interaction, and breakdown duties. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all banquet functions are executed professionally, efficiently, and with a strong attention to detail.

As part of a smaller full service hotel operation, banquet staff are expected to be versatile, team oriented, and actively involved in all stages of event execution including setup, service, bar support, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Event Setup & Breakdown
  • Set banquet rooms according to banquet event orders, floorplans, and management expectations
  • Arrange tables, chairs, linens, buffet stations, bars, staging, and equipment
  • Assist with room flips and event transitions
  • Tear down and properly store banquet equipment and supplies after events
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage areas and event spaces
Food & Beverage Service
  • Provide professional food and beverage service during banquet functions
  • Remain attentive and present throughout events to anticipate guest and client needs
  • Monitor buffet lines, beverage stations, and guest tables to ensure quality presentation and service standards
  • Assist with replenishing food, beverages, glassware, and supplies during events
  • Maintain accountability for banquet consumptions and accurate communication with supervisors regarding product usage
Bar & Beverage Support
  • Assist with bar setup, stocking, and breakdown
  • Perform bartender and bar back duties as needed based on business levels and staffing
  • Prepare garnishes, mixers, glassware, and bar supplies
  • Follow all liquor laws, responsible alcohol service standards, and hotel policies
Cleanliness & Professional Standards
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards in banquet rooms, bars, back of house areas, and storage spaces
  • Ensure event spaces remain clean, organized, and guest ready at all times
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance and proper grooming standards while on duty
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
Guest & Client Service
  • Deliver warm, professional hospitality to all guests, clients, and vendors
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client requests and operational needs during events
  • Communicate effectively with banquet captains, managers, kitchen staff, and fellow team members
