The individual duties of a paralegal will vary depending on the size and needs of their employer. Sometimes paralegals work as independent contractors, but most of the time they’re employed by a law office. Many paralegals focus their skills on particular phrases of a case, especially at larger firms.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a paralegal assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Paralegal Assistant, you need a strong understanding of legal terminology, research, and documentation, usually supported by a paralegal certificate or associate degree.
