Rodda- Miller has an immediate opening for an Outside Sales Representative for the Mountain States Territory based out of Woods Cross, Utah and covering Salt Lake City and Northern Utah. We are seeking experienced sales representatives with a competitive, strong background within industrial paint.

Job Description:

Profitably grow sales and market share by building successful customer relationships, effective prospecting, and target account development. Establish Rodda-Miller Paint as the primary supplier in given market region.

Meet and achieve short and long-term financial, strategic, and personal performance objectives as set forth by management. Effective time management and “territory planning” are essential skills required to increase sales and margin to existing customers while developing new relationships with target accounts within a wide variety of customer segments. Ability to work independently and be a self‑starter; to follow supervisor’s instructions and work cooperatively with co‑workers; maintain regular and timely attendance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of Rodda, Cloverdale, and competitors’ paint products, in addition to their strengths and weaknesses relative to application and durability
  • Meet and achieve short-and long-term financial, strategic, and personal performance objectives, as set forth by management
  • Formulate and execute a business plan for the market to achieve the desired revenue and margin goals long term
  • Effective “time management” and “territory planning” are required to increase sales and margin to existing customers while developing new relationships with target accounts within a wide variety of customer segments
  • Follow supervisor’s instructions and work cooperatively with co‑workers; maintain regular and timely attendance
  • Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of all aspects of our business; ability to transfer knowledge to others

Knowledge, Skills, Requirements and Essential Functions:
  • The ability to travel extensively within the outlined region is required, with unlimited use of a suitable personal vehicle. You must be licensed to drive in your state of residence, insured at or above the legal liability limits of your state, and your personal driving history must be consistent with Rodda’s driving policy.
  • Ability to transport oneself and transfer product, as needed, without assistance
  • Ability to work extended hours, particularly during “the season.”
  • College degree preferred, or five years of equivalent experience in sales and management, with a track record of exceeding expectations; paint or construction-related industry preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work with all levels of the company
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills; proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and email systems
