Job description

Industrial Painter/Blaster Foreman

CRM Blasting & Painting is looking for an experienced Industrial Painter/Blaster Foreman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a crew painting and blasting a variety of surfaces in a safe and efficient manner, using a variety of tools and techniques. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to work independently and in a team environment, and the ability to follow safety protocols. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with industrial painting experience to join a growing division.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality assurance, provide support and instruction to junior staff (Painter's Helper & Blaster)
  • Effectively communicate with Integrity Superintendent, participate in weekly production lead meetings, and provide Integrity department production updates.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret detailed drawings.
  • Responsible for mixing paints to the proper consistency and viscosity for spraying
  • Wear a mask, fresh air breathing apparatus or other safety equipment as needed, when working with paint products emitting hazardous vapors
  • Use of hand tools, power tools and blasting equipment such as portable disc grinders to remove existing slag.
  • Proficiency with surface filler materials, sandpaper, various types of hand grinders, wire brushes, files, and sandpaper to build up, smooth, and remove scale and burrs from surfaces.
  • Apply epoxy coatings to surfaces by use of brush, roller, air spray pots.
  • Monitor and maintain paint and blast pots during paint operations.
  • Clean and store paint tools and equipment after use
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being performed.
  • Storing and disposing of chemicals in accordance with company policies and procedures, Federal, State and Local laws

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • 3+ years previous experience in industrial coating using epoxies and urethanes with plural component equipment.
  • Basic industry specific math knowledge
  • Ability to paint, apply primers and epoxy with spray guns.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Proficient in promoting safe and healthy work environment.
  • Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
  • Ability to use hand tools including drills and grinders in a safe and effective manner.
  • Must be detail oriented and thorough in following protocol and procedures.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

 

Physical Capabilities and Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must be able to move or lift up to 50 pounds and perform overhead work applying coatings. The employee must also be capable of climbing using a ladder.

Schedule:

Must be able to travel regularly for up to two weeks at a time and work up to 12 hours a day.

Starting wage range $25 - $30/hr.
