About Struction Solutions
Struction Solutions is a veteran-led firm providing inspection services, environmental assessments, housing program support, disaster recovery consulting, and staffing solutions nationwide. We are currently seeking qualified Lead Risk Assessors to support lead hazard assessment projects in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position with work assigned on an as-needed basis. Inspection volume will vary based on project requirements and client needs.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct lead-based paint risk assessments in accordance with EPA and HUD guidelines.
  • Perform visual assessments and identify potential lead hazards.
  • Collect lead-contaminated dust wipe samples.
  • Conduct XRF testing of painted surfaces when required.
  • Prepare field notes, photographs, and electronic inspection reports.
  • Maintain chain-of-custody documentation and sampling records.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, tenants, property managers, and project representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports.

Required Qualifications
  • Current EPA-accredited Lead-Based Paint Risk Assessor certification.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience conducting lead-based paint inspections, risk assessments, environmental assessments, housing inspections, or related field services.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Experience using tablets, mobile applications, and web-based reporting platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned inspections.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel throughout Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties.

Preferred Qualifications
  • HUD Lead Hazard Reduction Program experience.
  • Healthy Homes Program experience.
  • Experience conducting dust wipe sampling and XRF testing.
  • CDBG, CDBG-DR, or federally funded housing program experience.
  • Residential construction, rehabilitation, code inspection, or environmental consulting experience.
  • FEMA disaster recovery experience.
  • Veteran status encouraged.

Equipment Requirements
Preference will be given to candidates who currently possess access to:
  • EPA-approved dust wipe sampling equipment.
  • XRF analyzer (or experience operating XRF equipment).
  • Digital camera or mobile inspection device.
  • Reliable internet access for report submission.

Compensation
  • Paid on a per-inspection basis.
  • Rates vary based on scope, travel requirements, and project complexity.
