Job description

Description

We are seeking a dependable and quality-focused Rewind Machine Operator to join our label manufacturing team. This position involves operating rewind/finishing equipment to inspect, slit, rewind, and prepare pressure-sensitive labels for shipment to customers.


This hands-on manufacturing position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. Previous label printing or converting experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates with related machine operating or manufacturing experience.


Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate rewind, slitting, and finishing equipment.
  • Inspect finished labels for print quality, color, registration, defects, and overall appearance.
  • Slit and rewind rolls to customer specifications, including proper roll size, direction, and quantity.
  • Verify job tickets, labels, materials, and specifications before and during production.
  • Remove defective material and identify quality issues before releasing the product for shipment.
  • Perform accurate roll counts and complete required production documentation.
  • Package, label, and prepare finished rolls for the next stage of production or shipment.
  • Make routine machine adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Perform basic equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
  • Work closely with press operators, quality, shipping, and other production team members.
  • Meet established production, quality, and efficiency expectations.
Qualifications
  • Previous rewind, slitting, label converting, printing, or machine operating experience preferred.
  • Experience in the pressure-sensitive label or flexible packaging industry is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Ability to read and follow job tickets, work instructions, and customer specifications.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a production team.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and handle rolls and production materials.
  • Ability to lift and move materials associated with the rewind and finishing process.
  • Ability to safely work around moving machinery in a manufacturing environment.
