Machine Operator - Grafoil Fabricator - Lakewood, Ohio
Up to $23.05 per hour
Opportunity on Multiple Shifts

Prior Machine Operation/Manufacturing Experience is REQUIRED.
Please note this is not a welding/fabrication position.

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator for our Fabrication Department to join our team. The primary function of this position is to manufacture various graphite products from graphite roll, sheet, and laminate materials. Fabricators are required to: perform tasks per work instructions, maintain the identification of the various lots of graphite material, and to handle the material carefully throughout all operations.

Duties:

  • The responsibility for working in a safe manner and following all HS & EP regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Operations of Fabrication equipment such as hot rolls, measuring stands, sheeter, band saw, slitter, tape corrugators, shredder, pill press, narrow roll slitter, slitter re-winder and hot press, roll coaters and laminating lines.
  • Use of scales to weigh-sort sheet material into prescribed weight categories.
  • Application of adhesive to sheet material.
  • Use of rulers, micrometers, and SPC recording (manually and/or computer entry) to check quality of material and products.
  • Maintenance of all written records required in the execution of the job.
  • The responsibility for maintaining quality output by checking this output and initiating any adjustments or action required.
  • The responsibility for reporting maintenance requirements on the equipment used.
  • The responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the work area and equipment.
  • Ensure a culture of behavior based safety by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines in all activities, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Training and assistance of newly hired operators as needed.
  • Other duties specified as needed by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility required.
  • Previous experience operating production machinery/equipment required.
  • Previous experience operating die cutting equipment a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb ladders, operate a variety of hand tools and operate fork lift.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent lifting, standing, bending, twisting, stooping is required as part of this position.
  • Majority of work is performed in the manufacturing area.
