Job description

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to package and ready finished goods for shipment to customers. Packaging associates are part of the fulfillment team and must take the ultimate care in ensuring all Mayorga Organics finished products leave the facility in a manner that is consistent with company quality and merchandising standards. Packaging associates must also prepare all materials essential to the packaging process. Packaging Associates must be committed to and follow the Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assemble boxes for product storage & display
  • Fill, seal, tin tie, and place packaged products in boxes
  • Palletize product boxes in a neat, organized, and visually appealing manner
  • Prepare raw materials for packaging including, but not limited to: bags, labels, tin ties, boxes
  • Visually inspect product (both finished and unfinished) for defects and proper presentation
  • Clean & sanitize net weighers at the beginning and end of shifts requiring their use
  • Clean & sanitize prep/packaging areas at the end of the shift
  • Clean & sanitize various packaging equipment in accordance with frequency guidelines given by supervisors and/or documentation
  • Cleaning bathrooms and breakroom as scheduled/assigned by the supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in all areas of the warehouse
  • Complying with all certifications, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards
  • Report to management any potential food safety issues and non-conforming products
  • Report to management/supervisor of any unsafe conditions or acts that affect health and physical safety.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to lift (up to) 50 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Able to work on feet for 8 or more hours
  • Able to consistently reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Able to change tasks quickly and work under pressure
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, as well as occasional Saturdays
  • Maintain timely and regular attendance
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred

DEBERES Y RESPONSABILIDADES

  • Limpiar y desinfectar el equipo de empaque conforme a la frecuencia indicada por los supervisores y/o documentación
  • Limpiar los baños y la sala de descanso según lo programado/asignado por el supervisor
  • Mantener un ambiente de trabajo limpio y seguro en todas las áreas del almacén
  • Cumplir con todas las certificaciones, requisitos regulatorios y normas de seguridad alimentaria
