Job description

Our team is expanding and we are looking to hire an Injection Molding Engineer.

The Injection Moulding Engineer is responsible for all aspects of Injection Moulding technology. This role is the Gatekeeper of Best Practices for Injection Moulding and will be the conduit to bridge what is developed in Engineering with what is correct and successfully implemented in the plants.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Quote Phase sign-off: The Injection Mold Engineer is responsible to review critical quote packages and interface with the plant engineers to ensure best practices are being followed.
  • Tool, Equipment and Process Feasibility: The Injection Mold Engineer is responsible for managing the manufactured part feasibility process with the appropriate plant engineering.
  • Tool and Equipment Sourcing: The Injection Mold Engineer will work with purchasing to define appropriate domestic or LCC tool shop, ensure low cost sourcing with required value for best practice standards.
  • Tool and Equipment Design: The Injection Mold Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the appropriate tool and equipment design is developed for the part, with the input of the appropriate plant engineering. The AME will also design and implement RJG sensor strategy for all molds.
  • Tool and Equipment Tracking: The Process Injection Mold Engineer will coordinate with program manager, tooling engineer, and plant engineer to ensure the tool build process.
  • Prove-out at supplier or in Minth facilities: The Injection Mold Engineer is responsible for coordinating and attending the tool prove-out process along with plant engineering when at all possible.
  • Part dimensional analysis and reconciliation process: The Injection Mold Engineer is responsible to manage the dimensional reconciliation process via Master Mold Set up, DOE process, and confirmation runs. The AME will also suggest design or tooling revision prior to launch to ensure optimized process window, and quality assurance.
  • Tool Prove-out and Hand-off to Production Site: The Injection Mold Engineer will coordinate and be responsible for scheduling the final tool prove-out/sign-off event at the Minth Assembly plant to ensure successful launch.
  • Best Practice feedback: The Injection Mold Engineer owns the PFMEA and will ensure that any lessons learned whether in design or process, the PFMEA and DFMEA are updated in the Global network for all to benefit from. The AME will also be the lead to develop any new PFMEA’s needed.
  • Training: The Injection Mold Engineer is responsible to train all plant personnel on Master set up, DOE’s, RJG systems procedures.
  • Must ensure that all systems in processing and mechanical meet Minth corporate Best Practice standards, and will perform any training necessary with the plant to ensure said same
  • The Injection Mold Engineer will assist in the quote phase if required, Capital investment, Sources selection, and layout of facility.


To qualify for this role you must meet the following:

  • Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience required
  • Strong communication, project management, and organization skills required
  • Global network and manufacturing experience preferred
  • Some experience in training & management preferred
  • Must be well versed with tooling and process development for all old and new processes, as well as the implementation of the tools and equipment into the existing or “Greenfield” production facility
  • Job duties may require frequent overnight and international travel including plan flights in excess of 12 hours in duration
