Job description

Accurate medical coding does far more than support revenue integrity. It strengthens documentation quality, ensures compliance, and helps providers tell the complete patient story. In this role, you will serve as a trusted coding expert supporting outpatient OB/GYN and Primary Care services while helping advance the quality and accuracy of care documentation across UVA Health.

The Role
As a Coding Quality Specialist 2, you will partner closely with physicians, clinical staff, and revenue cycle teams to ensure coding accuracy, documentation integrity, and regulatory compliance within outpatient OB/GYN and Primary Care practices. This position is ideal for a coder who enjoys analytical work, continuous learning, and serving as a resource for coding best practices.
In an average day, you will:
  • Review and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and related codes for professional billing services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 2+ years of relevant coding experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
