Summary:
Origin Mining Company operates the Mineral Park copper-molybdenum mine in Arizona and is focused on responsible, sustainable resource development. We aim to lead the U.S. copper industry through strong safety practices, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence. With a hands-on, technically driven approach, we are advancing both leach and concentrator operations to produce high-quality copper and molybdenum products.
Position Overview:
This role owns both IT and OT environments, ensuring a unified and standardized approach to technology and security across the organization. The position is primarily IT-focused with the ability to support and understand PLCs and controls systems. It leads IT technicians while providing oversight to controls functions, ensuring alignment between teams. A key objective is to drive consistent decision-making across IT and OT that supports overall business priorities. The role also works to reduce silos and imbalance between teams by establishing clear ownership and collaboration.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Own and lead both IT and OT functions, ensuring alignment in strategy, priorities, and execution
  • Standardize cybersecurity practices, policies, and architecture across IT and OT environments
  • Lead and mentor IT technicians while providing oversight and direction to controls/automation teams
  • Act as the key decision-maker to ensure IT and OT solutions are aligned with overall business goals
  • Drive IT/OT convergence initiatives to improve data visibility, operational efficiency, and system reliability
  • Ensure collaboration between IT and OT teams, reducing silos and organizational friction
  • Oversee industrial control systems (PLCs, SCADA, etc.) and ensure they integrate securely with IT infrastructure
  • Establish governance models that balance ownership and accountability across IT and OT domains
  • Promote a unified approach to technology investments, architecture, and standards across the company
  • Support digital transformation initiatives by enabling seamless data flow between operational and business systems
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong IT foundation with working knowledge of OT systems such as PLCs, SCADA, or industrial controls
  • Leadership experience managing technical teams and coordinating across IT and operational/engineering functions
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments with exposure to automation systems
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity, networking, and infrastructure across integrated IT/OT environments
  • Demonstrated ability to align technical and operational priorities and support IT/OT convergence initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills in complex, cross-functional settings
  • Relevant degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • Valid Drivers License is required for this role
