Description:
Provide patient care in the orthopedic surgery unit.
Evaluate and assess patient illnesses and injuries.
Perform physical examinations and special examinations.
Take medical histories and develop plans of care.
Intervene in crisis situations or patient deterioration.
Provide routine and illness care, order medications, and order diagnostic tests.
Evaluate diagnostic test results.
Assume responsibility for patient follow-up, coordination, and referrals to other health care providers.
Maintain patient health information records.
May develop policies and procedures and participate in system changes.
May participate in clinical research.
Provide patient counseling and education.
Participate in medical student and health professional teaching.
Act as a clinical consultant to peers and other health care professionals.
Assist with surgeries as first assist.
Perform related duties as required.
Flexibility in scheduling is required, including occasional day and weekend shifts.
