POSITION SUMMARY

  • Reports To:

  • Director of OR/Ambulatory Services

  • Summary:

  • The employee is primarily responsible for fulfilling OR cleaning requirements. Job duties include cleaning surgery rooms, beds, floors, suits, and sinks. The employee is also responsible for the sanitation of operating rooms and waiting areas. The employee assists with transportation of patients between units.

  • Work Schedule:

  • Must be able to work non-standard hours in excess of 40 hours per week.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Education

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Experience

  • Six months to one-year related experience

  • Computer Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.

  • May take up to 3 months to become proficient in this position. This position requires constant standing, walking, and use of hands and fingers.

  • Performs infection control activities in daily practices.

  • Cleans and maintains the operating room suites in accordance with hospital policies.

  • Completes daily cleaning responsibilities.

  • Disinfects the Same Day Procedure patient rooms after every patient.

  • Maintains the Surgery Waiting area.

  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to changes in work assignments and works effectively.

  • Restocks supplies and changes sharp boxes in a neat, clean and organized manner.
