Job Summary
The Lead Operating Room Aid functions as the point person between the OR nurse management and/or charge RN and the OR Aides. In addition, this position leads OR Aide staff on a daily basis to prioritize departmental needs and lead OR efficiencies to ensure OR Rooms are turned over timely and provides support to OR staff to ensure OR Rooms are ready for subsequent cases. This role performs in a high activity work environment with multiple priorities and shifts which necessitates flexibility in scheduling.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Manager in training, educating and mentoring new hires and junior staff
  • Create staffing assignments to ensure proper OR coverage for all Operating Rooms
  • Facilitate staff meetings and OR huddles
  • Communicate equipment needs/issues and/or changes to OR schedules or procedures
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications - External
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of OR and/or EVS experience
  • Must be able to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information in English
  • Must be able to lift 20-50lbs using appropriate lifting techniques.
