About the role
Chartis Interactive is looking for a SEO Consultant to support execution of SEO projects across key clients. Candidates need to have hands-on experience of improving client rankings and visibility in the search engines and collaborate with SME's in paid search, content, development teams and analytics.
SEO Consultants are responsible for supporting SEO strategy with hands-on activities such as keyword research and analysis, search insights, content gap analysis, technical site audits, off-site brand assets, creating page-level recommendations, competitive assessments and briefs/requirements for implementation, and managing reporting.
Candidates should possess a strong understanding of the search engine marketing industry across keywords and content, technology and off-page assessments. Candidates should enjoy problem-solving while developing their SEO and consulting skillsets.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understand clients' organic growth and marketing objectives to support SEO strategy execution led by SEO Lead/Manager - as it relates to their products, industry and larger business goals.
  • Conduct keyword research and thematic segmentation based on intent, themes and other actionable insights using first- and third-party data sources. This includes utilizing techniques around query-fan out methods, Generative AI and evolving search behaviors.
  • Analyze search landscape to evaluate intent, competitors, and successful tactics for visibility across Google (Gemini), OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, etc.
  • Collaborate with team members on strategy development and execution planning - including cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Map search behaviors to landing pages; audit client website for visibility against target keyword segments and determine which content should be optimized and where content needs to be created to address search needs.
  • Perform technical performance assessments to identify optimization opportunities - such as, Page Experience, Accessibility, Rendering and how UX is presented to target audiences.
  • Provide page-level recommendations and support development of briefs for content optimization and creation.
  • Collaborate with client or agency copywriters to provide search insights, optimization requirements and growth opportunities.
  • Audit client sites for technical issues impeding search visibility and provide recommended improvements to remedy issues.
  • Eagerness to test and learn new approaches within the changing search landscape, such as advanced LLMs, GenAI and evolving platforms.
  • Review paid search campaign and keyword performance as an input to SEO analysis and insight creation; work with paid search team for integrated search approach.
  • Audit brands external digital footprint to improve overall brand presentation.
  • Update reports and dashboards for SEO performance in primarily in Google Looker Data Studio and Excel using data from Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console and third-party tools (i.e. Semrush, AWR, Lumar, Sitebulb).
  • Stay informed on new and emerging opportunities in search, best practices, and industry updates.
  • Support development of insights and actions based on qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

Qualifications
  • Passionate about Digital Marketing, SEO/Search and desire to learn, experiment and innovate, to not only make an impact for our clients, but drive personal growth
  • Proven SEO experience, 2-4 years
  • Strong understanding of technical and content elements that impact organic search performance rankings
  • Proficient in identifying issues and areas of improvement with SEO performance
  • Experience with website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics etc.)
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and LLM prompt development and constraints as it relates to SEO
  • Knowledge of organic search ranking factors and search engine algorithms, with a desire to stay up-to-date on the latest in the Digital Marketing and SEO industry
  • Previous experience working across multiple brands or enterprise websites highly desired
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
