Job description

Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days
Role and Scope of Position:
Create, maintain and publish distribution System Operations procedures for Eversource.Selected Candidates may be asked to submit a writing sample.Essential Functions:
  • Develops, revises, and publishes detailed instructions, procedures, and guidelines for the operation of the distribution system in CT and WMA.
  • Maintains and updates Eversource System Operations procedures to ensure accuracy and alignment with current system configurations.
  • Identifies procedural and regulatory changes and incorporates necessary updates into System Operations procedures.
  • Ensures procedures comply with NERC Reliability Standards, ISO-NE requirements, and other applicable regulatory obligations.
  • Coordinates with Eversource departments, ISO-NE, neighboring utilities, and member organizations to gather information needed for procedure development and updates.
  • Performs periodic reviews of System Operations procedures and substation operating instructions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Represents System Operations Procedures in meetings, committees, and industry forums.
  • Participates in event review teams and prepares incident analyses as requested by Operations management.
  • Provides documentation, gathers evidence, and supports compliance audits.
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of electric transmission and distribution system operations.
  • Understanding of system components and their operational functions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., NERC, ISO-NE).
  • Familiarity with document management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and databases.
Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in electric power distribution, transmission, or generation preferred.
  • Two (2) years of System Operator experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years of procedure writing experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:

Valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required.
  • Must be able to travel between MA, CT, and NH as needed.
