Job description

About Us
Pendulum empowers companies and governments to uncover, understand, and act on current and potential risks and opportunities contained within narratives. We are building a powerful, multi-medium, always-on narrative and community intelligence platform for our customers, while tackling one of society's biggest problems - combating harmful mis- and disinformation. We are deeply inspired by our mission, motivated by solving hard technical problems, and obsessed with our customers.
Fulfilling our mission demands bringing together a team with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences. Diverse teams are the strongest teams because their plurality of experience enriches and expands the solution space and enriches decision-making. Diversity and inclusion are therefore core to our values and at the forefront of our hiring philosophy and day-to-day operations.
About the role
Pendulum Intelligence is building the next-generation analytics infrastructure for data-driven teams. As a Product Manager Intern, you'll work at the core of our product - partnering with leadership to shape what we build and why, defining requirements for our analytics platform, and shipping features that drive real value for analysts and business leaders working with complex social media datasets. This is a high-ownership role for someone early in their PM career who wants to learn fast in a startup environment.
What you'll do
  • Work closely with product leadership to drive new features from strategic vision through to shipped products - balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Lead discovery: customer interviews, market research, and synthesis of usage data to identify the highest-impact opportunities
  • Define clear, well-scoped requirements for complex platform capabilities - dashboards, query builders, alerting workflows, report scheduling, and data visualization surfaces
  • Evaluate LLM-powered features alongside engineering and research teams, contributing to quality benchmarks and product decisions
  • Partner with Design and Engineering leads in agile sprints, driving alignment and unblocking decisions quickly
  • Champion intuitive, simplified experiences that work under heavy information density
  • Run product reviews and roadmap planning sessions; share customer insights company-wide
  • Work with GTM to contribute to pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies
  • Contribute to broader product strategy across Pendulum's suite of customer-facing products

What you've done/Requirements
  • Experience: At least one prior PM internship or product adjacent role. 2+ years of engineering experience in a top tech company.
  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in business, CS, or a related field. Need a strong academic record.
  • Execution: Proven ability to move fast and deliver - breaking down ambiguity into clear priorities, writing sharp requirements, and keeping cross-functional teams aligned and unblocked.

What we offer
  • Grow as a professional by working with emerging technologies in a high-demand industry segment
  • Drive company direction at a company that encourages input from all levels to help shape our trajectory
  • Experience working at a technology company in which the mission focus is on tackling one of society's greatest challenges
  • Learn from industry and government experts who value initiative and encourage innovation
  • Enjoy the flexibility to work remotely, unlimited PTO, company (and two personal-choice) holidays
  • Receive excellent benefits, including 100% employer-paid employee health premiums (50% for dependents), 401(k), and FSA

The Product Manager Intern position offers a salary of $1,750 per week for 12 weeks. Please note that this range serves as a guideline; actual total compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, skill set, qualifications, and geographic location.
