Job description

AY2627 Student Assistant - Events & Operations (Work-Study Required)
Studentemployees are a valuable part of the Conference & Event Services staff. Werely on you to provide excellent customer service to the many people who hostevents on campus. The primary duties of this position include:
EventSupport
• Greetstudents, faculty, and staff
• Use 25Liveto track event coverage
• Reviewevent diagrams to ensure proper setup
• Monitorspaces during events and communicate last minute changes to Facilities and
Catering
• Completeclerical tasks as assigned
AudiovisualServices
• Set upintegrated audiovisual in event spaces
• Set upoutdoor sound systems
• Assist insetups for complicated audiovisual needs
• Inventoryequipment as needed
Tips forSuccess
Ø Studentemployees work up to 15 hours per week. Please clock in and out of Kronos as close to your start and end time as possible.
Ø If you arerunning late or are sick, please send an email Jesse Reed and copy John Hawn.
Guidelines for call offs:
o Call offsare for emergencies only. An emergency means illness, an urgent family issue,or a last-minute class conflict.
Ø We use aprogram called When to Work to manage schedules. If you need time off, please use When to Work to mark yourself as unavailable. We ask that you change yourpreferences in When to Work by Wednesday at 5pm for the following week.Schedules are published on Wednesday. You can also use When to Work to requesttrades with other employees if you have a last-minute conflict.
Ø When youare working, you are representing the university. Your nametag is mandatory so clients can recognize that you are there to assist with their event. Dress iscasual, but you are not allowed to wear flip-flops or open toed shoes, rippedjeans, yoga or sweatpants, casual shorts, or anything with profanity oroffensive language. On occasion, we may require that you dress up for ahigh-level event. Students will be sent home to change if they are not wearingsuitable attire.
Ø We havetwo mandatory training sessions. All employees are required to attend - TBD
