Description

Member First Mortgage is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and customer-service-driven Specialized Loan Associate to support advanced mortgage servicing functions across multiple loan products. This role focuses on construction loans, HELOCs, balloon loans, adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs), recasts, loan modifications, subordinations, and partial releases, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional member service throughout the life of the loan.

In this role, you will manage specialized servicing transactions, analyze loan documentation, and coordinate with members, credit unions, title companies, and other third parties. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong time management skills, works independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

ResponsibilitiesConstruction Loan Servicing
  • Review, approve, and disburse construction loan draw requests in accordance with approved budgets and amendments
  • Order and track inspections, title updates, lien waivers, and Certificates of Occupancy
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation for all draw activity
  • Respond to member inquiries regarding construction loan status, payments, and servicing questions
Specialized Loan Products (Balloon Loans, Recasts, ARMs & Modifications)
  • Process and service specialized loan products, including balloon loans, ARM adjustments, recasts, re-amortizations, principal curtailments, and construction-related modifications
  • Validate calculations and ensure compliance with investor, regulatory, and internal guidelines
  • Issue required notices and update servicing system records
  • Coordinate payoff and maturity activities as required
Subordinations, Partial Releases & Collateral Management
  • Process subordination agreements and partial release requests
  • Coordinate required documentation with title companies, credit unions, and borrowers
  • Maintain accurate collateral records, including MERS updates
  • Ensure all requests meet policy and documentation standards prior to completion
HELOC Servicing & Draw Management
  • Perform ongoing servicing of Home Equity Lines of Credit
  • Process draw approvals and account maintenance activities
  • Produce manual statements when required
  • Provide guidance regarding draw availability, repayment terms, and account requirements
General Support & Operational Assistance
  • Provide backup support for Escrow and Service Center call queues as needed
  • Respond to calls, emails, and voicemails in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with audits, quality reviews, and internal reporting
  • Document servicing actions and communications thoroughly
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2–4 years of experience in mortgage servicing, lending operations, or related financial services
  • Prior experience with construction loans, HELOCs, ARMs, balloon loans, recasts, or similar specialized loan products preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of mortgage servicing regulations, investor guidelines, and loan terminology
  • Ability to analyze financial data and interpret loan documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with loan servicing systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional and collaborative approach to internal and external relationships
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
