Job description

The Senior Specialist Online Learning will develop, design, and implement effective digital learning solutions. This role is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Workday Learning-BMCHS' Learning Management System (LMS). As a member of the Organizational Development and Effectiveness team, this role will ensure the organization has the appropriate technical solutions to deploy critical learning and development programs such as training compliance, performance management, and new employee orientation. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong customer service skills to support end-users across the health system.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
  • Administers and maintains the Workday Learning management system (LMS) including system configuration, customization, and user experience.
  • Assigns required onboarding, compliance, and annual trainings to all new employees weekly and tracks completion of assigned trainings for managers.
  • Manages and maintains courses within Workday Learning.
  • Supports internal customers with Workday Learning troubleshooting, access issues, and course registration.
  • Partners with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to create digital learning courses using adult learning instructional design principles.
  • Utilizes eLearning Authoring Tools (Articulate Storyline 360 and Synthesia) to develop digital courses which are interactive, informative, and branded appropriately.
  • Creates and maintains standard operating procedures for LMS and eLearning authoring tools.
  • Partners with HRIS team to test updates of Workday Learning quarterly and ensure proper functionality.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in administering an LMS (Workday Learning).
Minimum of 2 years' experience in the design, development, and implementation of eLearning courses.
Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360 and Synthesia.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (If none, please enter "N/A"):
  • B.A./B.S. degree
  • 2-3 years experience facilitating workshops or trainings
  • Familiarity with graphic design or video editing software
  • Experience coordinating programs or projects for a large organization

  • Ability to translate technical specifications, processes, and data into functional documentation or instructions for non-technical users.
  • Ability to diagnose, analyze, and resolve technical system errors or workflow bottlenecks.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including data analysis in Excel, document formatting in Word, and presentation design in PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of inclusive workplace practices and the ability to apply equity-based principles to office workflows and cultural initiatives.

Compensation Range:
$62,500.00- $91,000.00
This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness. In addition, BMCHS offers generous total compensation that includes, but is not limited to, benefits (medical, dental, vision, pharmacy), discretionary annual bonuses and merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well-being.
