Job description

PEAK - Athletics General Maintenance Specialist
Job no: 493610
Work type: Service/Maintenance, Skilled Crafts, Clerical
Location: Norman
Categories: Campus Operations/Safety, PEAK - Temporary
Pay Range: Targeted salary $16.50 per hour based on experience
Benefits Eligible: No
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am-4pm
Position Introduction:
Performs a variety of duties involving general facilities maintenance. Performs routine maintenance and repair to facilities under minimal supervision in areas such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, swimming pools, food service equipment, landscape, paint, and carpentry.
  • Performs maintenance duties such as basic plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning, swimming pool maintenance and repair, paint, carpentry and landscape activities.
  • Cleans the work area.
  • Identifies emergency repairs beyond his/her skill level in order to summon on-call assistance using defined procedures.
  • Performs minor equipment repair.
  • Completes required forms and logs.
  • Assist with gameday setup/teardown
  • Performs tasks using small hand tools and power equipment.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education and Experience:
  • None

Skills:
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of coaches, administration and student-athletes
  • Drivers' license to drive campus vehicles
  • Must be able to work from a ladder
  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions, communicate and drive

Department Preferences:
  • Knowledge of mixing paints, varnishes and other additives
