School Secretary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Principal with clerical tasks including, but not limited to, word processing, document creation and appointment scheduling
  • Assist building administration with necessary clerical tasks
  • Assist Head Secretary in the successful operation of the school office
  • Greet and assist school visitors; this includes following appropriate school and district procedures regarding visitors
  • Assist in the distribution of parent, student and staff communications including report cards, test results, newsletters and spring registration packets
  • Answer the telephone and provide accurate information and/or route calls or messages to the appropriate school employee
  • Assist in ordering and inventory management of school office supplies
  • Assist with the scheduling and other tasks related to building events
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
  • Assist student within the school setting-behaviorally, emotionally and academically
  • Provide supervision to students in nonacademic settings

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
