Location: North Houston – 77032
Temp to Hire paying 50-60k
Position Summary
The Air/Ocean Export Agent is responsible for coordinating and executing international export shipments via air and ocean freight. This role ensures timely movement of cargo, accurate documentation, compliance with international shipping regulations, and excellent communication with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate export shipments from booking through final delivery for both air and ocean freight.
  • Prepare and process export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, AES filings, and other required shipping documents.
  • Arrange bookings with airlines, steamship lines, and transportation providers.
  • Communicate shipment status updates to customers, overseas agents, and internal departments.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, customs requirements, and company procedures.
  • Track shipments proactively and resolve delays, documentation issues, or operational exceptions.
  • Maintain accurate records in the transportation management system (TMS) and related platforms.
  • Coordinate with warehouses, trucking companies, customs brokers, and international partners to ensure smooth shipment execution.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients regarding export processes and shipment inquiries.
  • Assist with other logistics and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • 3+ years of experience in international freight forwarding or logistics, with a focus on air and/or ocean export operations.
  • Knowledge of export documentation and international shipping procedures.
  • Experience working with carriers, customs brokers, and overseas agents.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
Experience with AES filing and U.S. export compliance.
Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) or freight forwarding software.
Experience handling both air and ocean export shipments independently.
