Castle Connolly has again named Axia Women's Health its #1 Physician Practice for Women's Health across our geographic footprint.
Somerset OB/GYN Associates, an Axia Women's Health care center with 2 convenient offices located in Bridgewater & Hillsborough, NJ is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner experienced in Ob & Gyn.
Monday to Friday days - No Weekends! In-office, only. Work 2, 10-hour shifts. Will consider experienced Physician Assistants.
• Full-service OB/GYN Practice
• 2 NJ locations: Bridgewater & Hillsborough
• Providers include: 4 Physicians, 3 Advanced Practice Providers
Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant performs physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. Other job duties include but are not limited to:
• Practices under the standard procedure established for the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant role consistent with Company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements
• Performs IUD & Nexplanon insertions/removals, Endometrial Biopsies, works with pessaries - education & maintenance; may perform colposcopies.
• Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
• Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy
• Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
• Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
• Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
• Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
• Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
• Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
• Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
Qualifications:
• Active, unrestricted New Jersey APN or Physician Assistant license, NJ CDS, and DEA.
• WHNP Board Certification from NCC, FNP Board Certification from ANCC, or Physician Assistant Certification from NCCPA.
• Experience as an advanced practice provider in Obstetrics & Gynecology required. Experience to exclude clinical education.
• Experience performing IUD, Nexplanon, Endometrial Biopsies. Certification in and experience performing Colposcopies highly preferred.
