Position Overview

Syndel is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Representative to join our growing team of fish health and nutrition professionals in Ferndale, Washington.

This is a consultative sales position focused on customer service, problem-solving, and long-term relationship development. The Sales Representative will work closely with customers to understand their operational needs, provide accurate product information, recommend appropriate solutions, and support customers throughout the sales and order-fulfillment process.

Success in this position requires a willingness to develop a strong understanding of Syndel’s products, customers, and the aquaculture industry. Previous experience in sales or aquaculture is beneficial but not required. Syndel will provide the training and support needed to build the relevant technical and industry knowledge.

The ideal candidate is curious, personable, organized, and comfortable communicating with customers. An interest in science, fish health, aquaculture, or technical products is particularly valuable.

Key Responsibilities

The Sales Representative’s responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to customer inquiries by telephone and email regarding product availability, pricing, quotations, orders, applications, and shipment status
  • Proactively contacting current and prospective customers to identify needs, develop opportunities, and strengthen business relationships
  • Preparing and following up on sales quotations and customer orders
  • Recommending appropriate products and solutions based on customer needs
  • Maintaining accurate and timely customer, sales, and order information
  • Coordinating with Logistics, Operations, Technical Services, and other internal teams to ensure customers receive accurate information and responsive service
  • Following up on open quotations, customer requests, and sales opportunities
  • Developing a thorough understanding of Syndel’s products, their applications, and the aquaculture industry
  • Sharing customer feedback, market observations, and sales opportunities with the broader sales team
  • Participating in sales meetings, product training, trade events, and industry activities
  • Traveling approximately one week every six weeks to visit customers, aquaculture facilities, distributors, and industry events
  • Performing other sales and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, account management, aquaculture, agriculture, animal health, pharmaceuticals, or a related industry preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with customers and colleagues at all organizational levels
  • Strong business judgment, attention to detail, and professionalism
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn technical product information and communicate it clearly to customers
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately one week every six weeks
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the United States and internationally, as required
