As a nursing home assistant administrator, you provide operational support to the head administrator of a nursing home. Your job duties include monitoring different departments and units at the facility, checking new patients into the assisted living facility, reviewing insurance and billing information, addressing facilities and maintenance issues, and monitoring staffing needs. Your responsibilities also include helping the lead administrator or director to coordinate care for each resident. This involves knowing the patient’s history, communicating with in-house and external physicians and medical professionals, and providing transportation services when a resident needs to attend appointments outside the senior home.
