This dual role helps ensure smooth operations on the hospital floor and quality patient care. UC CNAs typically work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, or clinics.

To thrive as a UC CNA (Unit Clerk Certified Nursing Assistant), you need a solid background in basic patient care, medical terminology, and administrative procedures, typically supported by CNA certification and healthcare experience. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, scheduling software, and standard office equipment is often required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are critical soft skills for managing unit workflow and supporting clinical teams.
