Description Of Work

As a Clerk Typist 2, you will provide essential clerical and secretarial support to CMSU administration, case managers, and support staff. Duties and responsibilities are performed both independently and collaboratively with other clerical staff to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient work environment in our administrative office. Professionalism, discretion, and strong communication skills are key as this position includes frequent interaction with clients, staff, and the public. Duties & responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Records and Data Management: Compile, post, verify, and maintain data and records in physical and digital files
  • Customer Service and Communication: Share responsibility for front desk receptionist and telephone coverage; provide information regarding services, procedures, and general office operations; communicate clearly, and professionally, with diverse populations
  • Mail Handling and Office Supplies: Receive, sort, open, distribute, and rout incoming and outgoing mail, packages, faxes, documentation, and office supplies
  • Document Preparation and Typing: Type correspondence, forms, and documents from drafts, notes, or oral instructions; proofread and correct documents for accuracy, grammar, and proper format
  • Computer and Office Equipment Operation: Operate and troubleshoot general office equipment used to complete your work
  • Team Collaboration: Meet deadlines in a timely manner, prioritize work effectively, and maintain a smooth paperwork flow for staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
  • Any combination of equivalent experience and training.
