Job description

A packer prepares and packs fasteners for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.  Responsible for accurately fulfilling orders, performing quality control checks, maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Essential Functions:

Set up robot and palletizer equipment.

Set up equipment to specific job requirements.

Safely operate mobile equipment in the facility.

Perform quality checks before packing product.

Read bin cards to correctly process products.

Set up scales for accurate counting of product.

Scan bin cards to transfer information in the computer system.

Ensure labels are correctly printed and placed on cartons.

Follow instructions and processes according to specific requirements.

Place correct pallets at the end of the pack lines ensuring both domestic and export requirements are met.

Check first and last box of each job to ensure correct parts are packed.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read understand and follow instructions.

Ability to use proper tools.

Ability to operate mobile equipment.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

Experience:

Packaging in a distribution center environment, a plus.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a distribution center environment. 

Standing for long periods of time is required.

Lift up to 50+ pounds on occasion. 

Must be willing and available to work overtime, as needed.
