Job description

The NPI Operations Program Manager (OPM) on the Robotics Team at Meta Reality Labs has a unique and high-impact role in driving cutting-edge technology from development to mass production while developing a new supply chain. This position is vital for bringing Meta's innovative robotics ambitions to life and requires demonstrated experience in product development, manufacturing, and engineering acumen to ensure high-quality product and launch outcomes. The OPM bridges core product engineering teams with a broad spectrum of functional organizations — including Manufacturing Engineering, Hardware/Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal, and Finance — as well as external manufacturing partners and suppliers. The OPM serves as the backbone of program execution, ensuring that engineering trade-offs, manufacturing constraints, and system-level dependencies are rigorously understood, communicated, and resolved across complex, high-priority initiatives that directly influence the success of innovative products in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Operations Program Manager, Robotics Responsibilities:
  • Own end-to-end Supply Chain and Operations for Robotics working cross-functionally within a matrix organization
  • Manage cross-functional execution of NPI Product Development by integrating engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain plans, communicate risk and status clearly and succinctly to management, calling out key technical issues and presenting options for resolution
  • Establish and lead on-site bring-up and integration activities, coordinating with both internal and external resources
  • Drive supplier readiness activities to execute development builds leading up to ramp, development of process qualification plans, and defining capacity and capex requirements, clearly identifying deliverables and dependencies
  • Assess, analyze, consolidate, and communicates risk and status clearly and succinctly to management, calling out key issues and presenting options for resolution to the cross-functional executive team through the new product reviews and other executive forums
  • Lead the tactical execution of go-to-market initiatives by working closely with key cross-functional engineering and operations teams, bring a technically informed point of view, guiding decisions related to manufacturing feasibility, test coverage, quality readiness, and service model
  • Liaise across cross-functional teams to ensure product cost, manufacturability, reliability, product quality, and safety and compliance performance goals are met
  • Drive the Operations team towards factory readiness with manufacturing partners to support MP (line layout, automation, capacity, CapEx)
  • Work with Product Cost Engineers to track and drive product cost targets

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations discipline or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in an operations-focused program management role in new production introductions
  • Experience applying structured problem-solving and data-driven analysis to resolve operational or engineering challenges
  • Experience with product features/specifications, manufacturing processes and the supply chain for highly technical products
  • Experience working with and managing external suppliers and manufacturers
  • Experience leading development and delivery of highly complex hardware products through the full NPI lifecycle
  • Experience navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing multiple and competing work threads to maximize impact

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree (e.g. MBA, Engineering, or other relevant field) with experience in management consulting, strategy, business operations, corporate strategy or similar discipline
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience managing JDM/ODM partners across different models of engagement, with the ability to drive technical alignment on manufacturing processes and quality standards
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience leading development/delivery of multiple high-volume products
  • 3+ years of experience in a robotics-focused program management role
