  • MUST HAVE experience working within a plant environment
  • 65% of the work will be in the field (other plants) and 35% at a desk within a plant
  • BSA skills are the #2 priority (they don't need to have a BSA title, but experience performing those types of duties)

  • Support the communications infrastructure across multiple manufacturing facilities, including network racks, servers, switches, routers, firewalls, structured cabling, and fiber
  • Experience installing and supporting Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, structured cabling, network racks, and fiber optic infrastructure

  • Install, mount, maintain, and troubleshoot networking and communications equipment supporting plant operations.
  • Provide Tier II infrastructure support, coordinating issue resolution with engineering teams, vendors, and plant personnel.
  • Support facility expansions, equipment deployments, and greenfield construction projects while following all plant safety requirements.

Business Systems Analysis:
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to understand business processes and technology needs.
  • Evaluate how existing and emerging technologies integrate with manufacturing operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Gather business requirements, document workflows, and translate operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Assist with technology planning, infrastructure upgrades, and implementation of new plant technologies.

Collaboration & Operations:
  • Serve as the primary technology resource for plant infrastructure and communications systems across multiple facilities.
  • Walk production areas to identify infrastructure issues before they impact operations.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians, engineers, plant leadership, vendors, and IT teams to ensure timely issue resolution and continuous operational improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting communications, networking, or infrastructure in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, utilities, or oil & gas environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools.
  • Experience installing and supporting Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, structured cabling, network racks, and fiber optic infrastructure.
  • Previous Help Desk or Tier II technical support experience.
  • Understanding of how communications infrastructure supports plant operations.
  • Experience working directly with operations, engineering, or maintenance teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
