DETAILS: NETWORK ENGINEER II
Title: Network Engineer II
Compensation: $100,000 - 120,000 base plus strong bonus plan, and excellent benefits package
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Smyrna, TN (Hybrid Role)
OVERVIEW: NETWORK ENGINEER II
This role will be responsible to resolve escalated service issues and mentor and coach other engineers to resolutions. Will engineer and implement complex projects and will maintain and oversee assigned technology pillars.
RESPONSIBILITIES: NETWORK ENGINEER II
  • Designs, builds, configures, integrates, deploys and tests infrastructure components, operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Designs, builds, maintains and monitors systems and platforms ensuring they consistently exceed defined goals for availability, capacity, efficiency, scalability, and performance
  • Evaluates, maintains, and modifies established 'best practices' for infrastructure maintenance and asset management
  • Creates and maintains custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on manual tasks
  • Troubleshoots problems related to physical and virtual infrastructure performance and resolve trouble tickets as assigned
  • Manages, participates, or performs tasks related to specific projects to implement new technology as assigned
  • Creates and maintains consistent documentation for system configurations, installation and administration procedures
  • Participates in on call rotation for after-hours support.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: NETWORK ENGINEER II
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or directly related year for year experience
  • 3+ years' experience as a system or network engineer or equivalent role required

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: NETWORK ENGINEER II
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting network routers and switches, including dynamic routing, overlays, and all layer 2/3 functionality
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting security appliances, such as traditional and next-gen firewalls, along with standalone or integrated IDS/IPS and SD-WAN technologies โ€ข
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting either hardware or software load balancers, such as F5, NetScaler, HAProxy, or Nginx
  • Implements and utilizes configuration automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, and SaltStack
  • Interacts regularly with architects to identify, build, and implement automation to drive greater efficiencies and standards
