Job description

MTSI is seeking a full-time Network Architect located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, to be the technical lead for a multi-level security, hybrid network. You would be responsible for the clean sheet design, documentation and oversite of design implantation, verifying against documented customer top level requirements. You would leverage existing expertise and assist in selection of additional positions required to complete the team stand up. You would interact with commercial vendors to include hardware, software and cloud providers in the design and implementation of your design.
Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
โ€ข Design and define system architecture for new / existing systems
โ€ข Assist system engineering in documenting the system requirements, derived requirements and solution mapping
โ€ข Act as technical lead of the overall effort
โ€ข Assist PM and System Administrators in procurement activities
โ€ข Assist in the planning for large-scale projects through vendor comparison and cost studies
โ€ข Create and deliver system descriptions and progress updates to customers and stakeholders
Qualifications Required:
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure design in a networking capacity.

โ€ข Expert Knowledge of TCP/IP, spanning-tree architecture, subnetting architecture, routing protocols and routing system architecture and design, access control lists, wireless, VPN architecture, network access control architecture, and firewall architecture.
โ€ข Experience in a multi-vendor environment, with the ability to transfer network configurations and concepts from one vendor to another.
โ€ข Extensive configuration and system design experience with OSPF, BGP, port-channels, firewalls, network fabrics, and DMVPN.
โ€ข Network tools including but not limited to: Ansible, Wireshark, Network Management Systems, Network configuration management, sflow/NetFlow, IPAM, and SDN.
โ€ข Linux experience.
โ€ข Version control system experience.
โ€ข Ability to communicate complex network solutions to technical and non-technical coworkers.
โ€ข Self-starter with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
โ€ข 10 years' experience working as a Network Engineer or Network Architect.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, domain controllers, IP addressing, DNS, remote access, VLANs, and VoIP systems

Education:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering).
Even better if you have these desired skills:
โ€ข Git familiarity.
โ€ข Experience managing AWS/Azure environments.
โ€ข Desired Certifications: CCNP, JNCIP-ENT or similar.
Clearance Requirements:
โ€ข Must possess a Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility).
