Summary

The Junior Network Engineer will assist in the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and support of enterprise network infrastructure. This role provides hands-on experience with LAN/WAN networking, wireless technologies, network security, and cloud-connected environments. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and passionate about developing skills in network engineering, infrastructure operations, and enterprise connectivity.

This position is on site Monday - Friday at our Euclid, OH HQ.  Candidates must be in the Greater Cleveland, OH area.

Network Infrastructure & Operations
  • Assist with the configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Support installation and maintenance of network hardware including switches, routers, wireless access points, and related equipment.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Assist with troubleshooting connectivity, routing, switching, and wireless issues across global locations.
  • Support maintenance and administration of network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, network access controls, and secure remote connectivity.
  • Participate in network upgrades, site deployments, and infrastructure modernization projects.
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, IP addressing documentation, and configuration records.
  • Assist with change management activities and configuration backups.
  • Support network standardization efforts and compliance with company security policies.
Network Services
  • Assist with administration and troubleshooting of core network services including DHCP, DNS, and IP address management.
  • Support VLAN implementation, routing configurations, and network segmentation initiatives.
  • Help identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through analysis and monitoring.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with senior network engineers on projects, deployments, and operational initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation after training.
  • Stay current with emerging networking, cloud, and cybersecurity technologies.
  • Maintain organized work practices and adhere to all Lincoln Electric policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in lieu of a Degree
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, STP, wireless networking, and QoS.
  • Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, subnetting, and OSI model concepts.
  • Experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Basic understanding of network security principles, VPN technologies, and firewall administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or equivalent preferred.
