Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Cole Engineering Center Tower, Warren MI three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].

General Motors is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Supervisor to lead the North American Finished Vehicle Network Design Logistics Team. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to guide a high-performing team in driving innovation, optimizing our finished vehicle network, and managing strategic projects across North America and globally on imports and exports. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of key logistics initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Supporting the team with systems accuracy, tactical design changes, cost savings analysis/optimizations, creative solutions, and purchasing support. Opportunities can exist in changing the network, process, and technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and manage a team of logistics professionals, providing direction, support, and performance feedback to ensure individual and team success.
  • Strategic Network Optimization: Drive tactical and strategic design changes to the finished vehicle logistics network, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Lead Network performance validation Actual vs Forecast on cost savings and premium. Ability to track impact files before and after network redesigns.
  • Project & Process Management: Oversee the planning and execution of logistics projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely delivery of results. Experienced in defining transportation methods balancing cost, service, and quality.
  • Systems & Data Accuracy: Ensure logistics systems are maintained with high accuracy and integrity to support data-driven decision-making. Lead Finished Vehicle routing and distribution experience in North America, Mexico and Canada.
  • Innovation & Problem Solving: Champion creative solutions to complex logistics challenges, leveraging technology and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Purchasing & Vendor Support: Collaborate with procurement teams to support sourcing strategies and vendor performance management.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, manufacturing, logistics or product development
  • Strong analytical and data analytics skills (e.g. Access, Excel, SQL)
  • Expert in analytics tools with ability to learn new tools/systems quickly
  • Ability to own the outcome and drive long-term projects through to completion
  • Project management and cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and embrace change within the Finished Vehicle network design team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with other cross-functional areas such as purchasing, engineering, manufacturing & sales
  • Attention to detail and data integrity and ability to deal with ambiguity
  • 5-20% Travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related advanced degree a plus
  • Familiarity with VTIMs/LTIMs (GM TMS Systems)
  • Data Visualization Skills (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience with KNIME
  • Network Design Software (e.g. Optilogic, Cosmic Frog)
