Job description

The National Sales Manager leads the organization’s national sales strategy, overseeing revenue performance, sales operations, and the work of all sales and marketing personnel. This role combines strategic leadership with administrative oversight, including developing training programs, setting national and regional sales targets, and managing regional sales managers across the country. The position is responsible for analyzing sales data to determine market potential, inventory needs, and growth opportunities. The National Sales Manager also provides forecasting, guides product planning, and develops marketing and pricing strategies to ensure strong returns, competitive positioning, and alignment with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the national sales operations, overseeing revenue performance and the work of all sales and marketing personnel. Includes setting sales goals and performance expectations for all sales and marketing team.
  • Responsible for the performance management review of sales and marketing, the selling process, sales promotions , travel planning, mentoring, and training of the sales and marketing personnel to strengthen the teams capabilities while ensuring the efficiency of the sales operation.
  • Establishes both national and regional sales targets. Using market data and trends, work with General Manager to set sales strategy, policies, goals and objectives.
    Create sales forecasts and product planning objectives to support company growth goals. Ensures alignment between sales initiatives, growth opportunities, and overall company objectives.
  • Provide technical support to sales employees in conjunction with Technical Manager.
    Develop marketing and pricing strategies to maximize product performance, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Insures the marketing strategies and sales promotions through all marketing efforts align with company goals and objectives
    Stay actively informed of all industry trends and marketing. Monitor Sales metrics, analyze market trends, etc.
  • Analyze sales data to assess market potential, forecast demand, and determine inventory requirements. Collaborate with technical, operations, supply chain, and quality on new and existing product opportunities to increase value proposition to the customer, aligning sales, pricing, inventory requirements, and product strategies with the organization.
  • Work with Finance department to develop sales and expense budgets, including forecasting sales for the department and assisting in past due collections.
    Review daily / monthly sales quotes / reports and provide proper feedback to sales personnel to help them meet budget / goals.
  • Proactively resolve problems or complaints lodged by any customer or sales employee.
  • Prepare monthly reports including corporate monthly review slides.
    Travel to customer locations to support Menardi business and regional managers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree - Business, Sales, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of sales and marketing experience
  • 2+ years of sales management experience
  • CRM experience required
  • Manufacturing knowledge preferred
  • Ability to manage a sales team while driving performance
  • Experienced in developing strategic sales plans
  • Experience with setting and achieving sales targets
