What are MSP Program Managers?

MSP (Managed Service Provider) Program Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of outsourced IT or staffing services provided by an MSP to an organization. They act as the primary point of contact between the client and the service provider, managing vendor relationships, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and optimizing program performance. Their duties often include contract management, reporting, issue resolution, and continuous process improvement to maximize value for the client.

What are some of the key challenges MSP Program Managers face when coordinating between clients and service providers?

MSP Program Managers often encounter the challenge of balancing diverse client expectations with the capabilities of multiple service providers. They must ensure clear communication, timely delivery, and adherence to compliance standards across all parties. Navigating changes in client requirements, resolving discrepancies in processes, and maintaining strong vendor relationships are typical aspects of the role. Successful program managers leverage organizational skills and proactive communication to address issues quickly and keep projects on track.

Job description

    ABOUT HAYS ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS

Hays Enterprise Solutions manages and strategically develops a defined portfolio of global clients across all Hays service lines and geographies — working at the C-suite level to increase market share, expand geographic reach, and deepen client loyalty. Our Outsource Services portfolio spans Managed Service Programs (MSP) and Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), covering everything from product development and sales through delivery, supplier management, governance, compliance, and technology.

    OUR NEW ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager — a senior leader responsible for driving large-scale, cross-functional programs within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. This role oversees program strategy, delivery, and performance end to end, ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, and full alignment with business goals across complex, high-value accounts.

The Senior Program Manager manages sophisticated stakeholder relationships at the most senior levels, leads continuous improvement initiatives, optimizes service delivery processes, and ensures programs consistently meet their contractual, financial, and quality targets. You will be the strategic face of Hays to your clients and the operational engine behind your team’s performance.

This is a role for someone who thinks at the program level, acts with the authority of a business owner, and drives results through the people and processes around them. If you thrive in complex, fast-moving environments where both strategic vision and hands-on execution matter, read on.

    WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO

Your day spans two interconnected domains: growing the account and keeping the program running with precision. You’re equally responsible for commercial outcomes and operational integrity.

    Account Growth & Commercial Leadership

    • Take full ownership of individual and team fee achievement across your accounts
    • Generate opportunities to grow the client account and drive team results
    • Partner with key client stakeholders to identify and act on further growth opportunities
    • Identify client development opportunities and work with the management team, International Sourcing Centre (ISC), and Solutions team to implement client development strategies
    • Collaborate with the Solutions and ISC teams to design and present tailored solutions to the client when required
    • Monitor competitor performance and provide recommended actions to the leadership team
    • Actively promote Hays’ full service offering and engage the client at every opportunity
    • Develop and drive budgets, business plans, and sales plans aligned to account strategy
    • Direct and manage team performance in line with strategy, budgets, and business plans

    Operational Excellence & Compliance

    • Ensure teams are working with the ISC to design and select the most effective end-to-end recruitment process per client requirements
    • Oversee all client placement activities — including onboarding, timesheets, aftercare, and dispute management — ensuring each is handled effectively
    • Conduct regular business planning to analyze team strengths, growth opportunities, and threats to the program
    • Ensure full compliance with service agreements, contracts, and all applicable legislative requirements
    • Conduct regular compliance audits to ensure all candidates meet critical process and client-specific requirements
    • Review audit findings and provide actionable recommendations for compliance improvements
    • Ensure adherence to Hays’ policies, procedures, recruitment methodology, and service delivery standards
    • Work continuously to uphold and improve the quality of service delivered to both internal and external customers
    • Engage, direct, and support team members in contributing to quality management, risk identification, and issue resolution

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • Procurement or sourcing background with experience supporting professional services
    • Experience working in or supporting an SOW program, contingent workforce program, or services procurement function
    • Demonstrated experience running or supporting RFPs and competitive bidding events
    • Prior experience managing or guiding a team, vendors, or program resources
    • Strong stakeholder communication skills — comfortable engaging frequently with hiring managers and senior leaders
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through
    • Professional, resilient, and effective in a fast-paced, transactional, client-facing environment
    • Proficiency with procurement systems, VMS tools, or workforce management platforms preferred

    Preferred Background

    • Experience as a junior category manager or services sourcing analyst
    • Background managing or supporting a contingent workforce or IT services category
    • Exposure to professional services sourcing, consulting engagements, or managed services
    • Prior experience in an onsite, client-embedded program role
    • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

    WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN

    • Base salary range from $80,000 - $85,000 plus 20% bonus
    • Remote schedule
    • PTO starting at 22 days, plus 2 floating holidays and 2 volunteer days — top performers earn unlimited PTO
    • Competitively priced medical, vision, and dental plans
    • 401(k) with guaranteed match and fast-paced vesting schedule
    • Continuous training and support through Hays Learning & Development
