Job Summary
The Sr Regulatory Affairs Engineer is responsible for developing and executing processes and activities required to certify motorcycles, systems and components in all markets in which Harley-Davidson does business. This role will also be a critical input into the product development process by helping define project requirements and supporting the smooth delivery of the product plan by determining certification test needs and working to enable undisrupted shipment, sale & registration of product. The incumbent will monitor and communicate new or developing regulations, at times engaging with industry associations, government representatives and other external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

    • Demonstrates in depth knowledge of new or developing regulations.
    • Solves complex problems involving production activities and has basic knowledge of related areas such as certification processes and on-time product delivery.
    • Acts as a resource for department staff and project teams with less experience.
    • Responsible for ongoing certification activities and may lead projects within a broader area.
    • Demonstrates in depth knowledge of documentation processes.
    • Acts as a technical resource for Environmental Emission systems (Noise, Tailpipe, OBD, EVAP, etc.)
    • Communicates on difficult or sensitive information and builds relationships with stakeholders domestically and internationally.
    • Travel to test facilities, government offices, associated meetings or conferences and other H-D facilities, domestically or internationally.

Education Requirementsย 
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred

Experience Requirementsย 
Required

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience in engineering and/or regulatory certification
  • Expertise in the use of project management techniques.
  • Proven track record of improving processes and procedures.
  • Proficient with standard Office tools โ€“ MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Nuance

Preferred

  • Advanced Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Motorcycle systems
  • Technical Knowledge of Environmental Emission systems (Noise, Tailpipe, OBD, EVAP, etc.)
  • Experience with Computer Databasesย 
  • International experience including working with people from other cultures where English is a second language is preferred.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
