The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra - You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a  Associate Test Engineer - Dyno Lab.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Test Engineer - Dyno Lab to support the planning, execution, and analysis of engineering tests that validate product designs, verify virtual simulation methods, and evaluate system and component failure modes. This entrylevel role offers handson experience with laboratory testing while working closely with experienced engineers across Product Development Engineering.

In this position, the Associate Test Engineer will contribute to systems engineering, testing, and quality initiatives by applying engineering fundamentals, learning data acquisition techniques, and generating highquality test data. Through mentorship, collaboration, and practical application, this role provides a strong foundation for professional growth in product development, testing, and analysis.

Job Responsibilities
  • Utilize established test procedures and practices to solve standard engineering problems, analyze information, achieve objectives, meet deadlines, and make sound technical judgments with guidance from more senior engineers while executing tests on motorcycles and their components in the laboratory environment.
  • Support system, and component testing through proper application of measurement methods, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation techniques.
  • Compile, analyze, and report test results in a timely and accurate manner, with coaching and direction from more experienced engineers.
  • Execute tests, support continuous process improvement, and reduce product development time through effective communication, asking questions, confirming understanding, and providing regular status updates to engineering teams.
  • Provide highquality test data through an understanding of transducer design, calibration methods, measurement limitations, and appropriate usage.
  • Apply instrumentation tools and techniques independently and successfully during project execution, following established standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of statistical analysis in daily work and participate in root cause analysis activities (e.g., Cause Map, Fishbone diagrams).

  • This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related technical Degree.
Experience Requirements
  • Limited or no professional experience is expected; related coop or internship experience is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively within a crossfunctional team including engineers, technical specialists, mechanics, and riders.

In addition, the candidate will have demonstrated the following:

  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals and the use of test equipment to support design development and verification
  • Ability to solve technical problems using structured thinking and creative solutions in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely explain technical topics to multiple levels of the organization
  • Motorcycle riding experience or a strong desire to learn is appreciated

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
