Hours: Labor Pool (as needed)
Overview
The Courier provides a wide range of transportation support necessary to coordinate pick-ups and deliveries of a variety of items including, interdepartmental mail, U. S. mail, parcels, packages, lab items, pharmacy items, blood and tissue samples, supplies, x-rays, and any other items as directed by the supervisor. The Courier will drive a company vehicle on pre-described daily routes to specific Riverside facilities as directed. The Courier will assist in other areas of Materials Management as required.
What you will do
  • Deliver and pick up designated items from all stops on schedule. Depart and return from courier runs in time frame designated on schedule unless otherwise directed. Adhere to proper handling guidelines ensuring special handling instructions are followed accordingly. Procure and file documentation or receipts for all items as required.
  • Identify and contribute to route and mobile unit set up optimization for cost reduction and standardization opportunities
  • Assist co-workers with improving work procedures and increasing productivity during non-peak times. Perform back-up duties for other couriers as needed.
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance and safety checks are performed on vehicle and mobile units as required. Maintain a clean, clutter free vehicle. Procure maintenance documentation and receipts for the fleet maintenance record.
  • Attend all in-service education, departmental, or update meetings as required. Maintain up to date yearly testing.

Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED, (Required)

Experience
  • Experience driving commercial vehicles (Preferred)

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills/ability to interact professionally with all levels of physicians and staff
  • Safety-oriented

Licenses and Certifications
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) - DMV (Preferred)
  • Drives personal vehicle for RHS business 25% or more of the time to perform essential functions of the job
  • Operates company vehicles as essential function of the job
  • Valid Drivers License (Required)
